Selected companies to be given up to 70 million KRW annually for up to 3 years

The Daegu Intellectual Property Center announced on the 10th that it has selected 20 local companies as 'Global IP Star Companies'.
The selected companies include Odae Metal Co., Ltd., Ajin X-Tec Co., Ltd., Dongsung Industrial Co., Ltd., Wintec Co., Ltd., and Fine System Co., Ltd.
This year, 39 companies out of 54 applicants were selected at the first stage. Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, the field survey was replaced by a remote due diligence survey, and the final 20 companies were selected through the Global IP Star Company Selection Review Committee held on April 10.
The selected companies receive comprehensive support under IP management plans for up to three years, with less than 70 million won per year. They will receive:
 - Production of a video to promote their patented technology
 - Personalized patent roadmap and patent & design convergence
 - Non-English brand development
 - Brand and design development, and overseas rights development.
Choi Jeong-ho, head of the Daegu Intellectual Property Center, said,"Through this project, we will support local companies and increase their competitive value, which will serve as a stepping stone to overcome COVID-19". He also added, "We hope this will serve well for the companies and will strive to do our best to ensure smooth cooperation between participating companies and consultants.”
